Celebrating Life At Christmas And 1 Million Views On Asexualise My Asexual Life Channel

Merry Christmas

Whatever you are doing, however you are celebrating, if you do celebrate this festive season, I hope you’re happy and enjoying life.

I know for some asexuals, Christmas is a time of love, laughter, joy and happiness, and I personally love Christmas, but for others it can feel like a lonely experience, and I talked about some asexuals not liking Christmas because they see family members and friends having the type of things that they feel they can’t have as an asexual – which is tough- in a recent live stream I did here https://www.youtube.com/live/wHDB0SvOVzg?si=TfR0TvocuKfxnCYn

I am celebrating Christmas with my parents, since I came to stay with them on Christmas Eve.

This year, not only am I celebrating Christmas, I’m also celebrating life itself – which is the greatest gift ever and an appreciation for things I am grateful for in my life, despite this having been a tough year for me health wise. Hence why it’s been a long time since I wrote a blog post here.

I’m celebrating:

* My dad being alive and with me and my mum for Christmas, after being rushed into hospital in January and as a consequence is on permanent oxygen 24/7 with a diagnosis of COPD.

* Being alive myself. After I had an “immediately dangerous” gas leak last week and had to call the gas emergency services to come to my home to measure the severity of the gas leak and make my home safe.

* I’m thankful that although I broke 2 bones in my back this year, I could still walk and with 8 months of hard work doing painful physio exercises, I’m a lot stronger and got more movement back in my spine – my physio said it can take up to 2 years to get full movement back in my spine.

* Although I currently have a suspected broken toe and I’m waiting for an Xray, I’m grateful that although the new shoe cabinet drawer came off its runners and injured my foot – this being one of the injuries that it caused, it appears only one toe is actually broken – although my big toe was badly bruised and swollen, etc.

So yes, it’s been a tough year, but I try to look at the positive..

* I’m also grateful I’ve got a new home, even though there has always been problems so far, since moving in, on the 5th of November. With a leak that night from the bath, no boiling hot water for 1 month and 11 days and things that were broken and needed repairing or replacing. At least I have a home, with nice neighbours and I’m not facing potential homelessness anymore, as my last landlord was selling that flat.

There is a song called,” Grateful” which I listen to a lot – here https://youtu.be/sO2o98Zpzg8?si=e2M7NLa-98jRTmA5

I realised in life I can look at everything that is going wrong. or I can choose to be grateful for things I do have, and for things not being worse. This song reminds me of that.

I’m also very thankful and grateful for all the wonderful Christmas presents I received and I did a live video about this here https://www.youtube.com/live/wr4G89PRo-U?si=fyLd3sYXOTXwQkfW

Christmas is different for many people who are asexual and in order to spread awareness of asexuality and dive deep into why this is, I recorded this live video  here https://www.youtube.com/live/MsuV8niWwac?si=NbfQN3pv1OdxQaYA

Can you relate?

* I’m also celebrating over 1 million organic views on my Asexualise My Asexualise Life channel and I could not have done that without every single one of you who has viewed my channel, subscribed, shared, liked or commented on it. So thank you so much. If you’re not yet subscribed – please consider doing so and hit the bell icon so you never miss an episode, here .

I recorded a special live video celebration the day, we, as a community, went over 1 Million views – 21st of December and bought myself a memorable gift for this – watch this episode here https://www.youtube.com/live/VrUxAmKlii8?si=RTZoGfd3XYe5CR7j
